Is Renting a Bigger Bin the Right Move or are you Overpaying – read ahead!
Bigger is not always better when it comes to renting a dumpster or renting a bin. Every day, we field requests from dozens of small businesses, corporations, and construction site managers seeking bin rentals.
At times, we’ve seen them make the mistake of renting a bin too small for operations, resulting in having to overpay on overage fees. Then, there are times when one rents a size too big resulting in perhaps money that could have been saved renting something more appropriate to the amount of waste produced.
Bin dumpsters come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and depending on what’s required for your needs, you may be recommended to go with something large or small. As waste management experts, we can help in selecting the right dumpster size or bin rental.
There are 4 general categories of bin rentals to consider. There are small bins, approximately five yards in size, ideal for concrete, bricks, rocks, dirt, and asphalt. There are medium sized bins, which are approximately ten yards in size, with are commonly used for drywall and roof supplies.
There are large bins of twelve yards or larger usually recommended for demolition and renovation projects. Then, there are extra-large bins of sixteen yards or larger which are provided for construction concrete disposal.
Although each of these bin sizes come with a recommendation, they may not be right for what you need them for. For example, if you’re working on a roofing project that’s producing a lot of waste, you may want a large or extra-large bin as compared to the recommended medium dumpster. Comparatively, if it’s a smaller construction site or a smaller renovation you’re completing, you may require a medium bin as opposed to an extra-large bin.
Sometimes, size restrictions on-site may be what’s limiting the type and size of bin. For example, we drop off the bin or dumpster in your driveway or on your building site. Depending on where you believe the most convenient loading area is, this may play a role in determining what kind of dumpster you can have. After it’s dropped off though, the amount of time you require it for and when to schedule pick-up all comes from you.
We will assist in any way we can. When you’re ready for your dumpster or bin to be picked up, just give us a call. At that point, we will dispatch our waste management team to haul away the materials.
Dumpster rentals should always be customized for the project and for that reason, as we put it, bigger is not always better. For renovating, upgrading, demolishing, and constructions, renting a dumpster will allow you to focus on your project. Please allow us to take care of all the details. If anything can be recycled, we will do so. If not, we will ensure everything is appropriately processed at a waste management facility.
